Breakfast Mountain
Branx, MFNW. Okay, now I'm apparently at a SE PDX club called Branx, located in an industrial, warehouse portion of town, similar to the Strip District of Pittsburgh. Branx is a decidedly cool club that makes the most of the industrial setting: an empty, cavernous space with a stage at one end and lit by less than a half dozen, dim red bulbs, and a bar serving PBR, the beer of choice among a certain hipster clientele. Fittingly, the opening act, a solo musician who goes by the name Breakfast Mountain, played bass-heavy dubstep while enveloped by the output of a smoke machine. An atmospheric start to an evening of interesting music.
