The Joy Formidable
Wonder Ballroom, MFNW. An incredible, mind-blowing set by one of the best bands in music today, led by the inimitable Ritzy Bryan. Their sound isn't quite so much a wall of music as it is waves, huge swells of sound that lift the audience up and carries them off before gently dropping them in the intervening trough, with occasional tidal waves that pin you to the floor but leave you asking for more. A much anticipated set that lived up to my expectations, and very well mixed by the Wonder Ballroom engineer - you could hear every nuance.
