Day of the Grove

That storm over Haiti and Puerto Rico yesterday is now over Cuba and is being called Potential Tropical Storm Four. Current forecasts have Four developing into a Tropical Depression tomorrow morning and then into a Tropical Storm by the end of the day. It is expected to pass offshore near Tampa and then make landfall in the Big Bend area of the West Florida coast, cross the peninsula, and then travel up the Atlantic coast of Georgia and the Carolinas.

It's not currently expected to impact Atlanta, but a change in trajectory could bring it this way.

Meanwhile, the oppressive humidity here in Georgia finally broke. It's still hot (95°) but not nearly as humid. I got my five miles in today along the Chattahoochee, even braving the shadeless back-stretch mile.

The neighborhood was supposed to have our monthly First Friday get-together today, but the Real Housewives of SoBu (South Buckhead) decided it was too hot and opted to watch the Olympics in the air-conditioned comfort of their homes instead. The husbands wisely went along with whatever the wives decided, so First Friday is cancelled this month.

And thus passes another day in the life of the R.O.M.
