Several consecutive days of rain are forecast - the same system that's currently inundating New Orleans under record floodwaters. Therefore, we used our free time today to clean some gutters (not all - the hard-to-reach ones high up there may never get cleaned). When we were through, we trimmed some ivy to free a vine trying to compete for trellis space in front of the house. Then we took another nap.
Ah, the life of leisure. No more rat race, no more daily grind, no more commute in Atlanta's brutal traffic. We're already noticing how much money we're saving on gasoline. However, speaking of money, yesterday's commute would have been interesting - reportedly, the doors unexpectedly swung open on a Garda security truck somewhere on I-285 and some $100,000 in cash went flying out into the Georgia air. Naturally, pandemonium ensued as people pulled over to grab as much money as they could carry. Frankly, we're surprised everyone was so well behaved about it and didn't start trying to steal each others' loot.
Fortunately, there was plenty of room to pull over there, unlike where we broke down earlier this year with no break-down lane on either side of the road.
Atlanta police are demanding everyone return the cash and are saying they have everyone's tag numbers from the security cams. "Don'y make us come find you," they warn, but this is Atlanta, so good luck getting your lost money back.
Personally, we would return $50 in singles and say that's all that we got, and then keep the $2,500 in $100s that we also picked up.
Not to give anyone any bad ideas.
