Eleanor Freidberger
Crystal Ballroom, MFNW. Eleanor Freidberger is (or was) the singer in the band The Fiery Furnaces, but is now going it alone, or at least with her own band, which includes her brother on guitar. She already has several great songs in her set list, and has a great voice that sounded clear and unsullied by whatever technical difficulties were plaguing Mini Mansions before her. A very good set by an emerging star.

WOW I'd love to see her!!! I love the fiery furnaces!!! Hey we have the same music tastes!!! Glad you had such a good time at the festival! :-)
You should check out some if Freidberger's songs, then. She's really quite good, and I didn't even mention that she has really cool, Chrissie Hyde-type bangs and wore a denim jacket despite the heat.
