Georgia set a record today for the most new covid cases in a single day. The New York Times reports 24,911 new cases, but that probably includes non- and under-reporting over the Christmas weekend. The Georgia Department of Health reports 9,780 positive tests on the day, a number that likely doesn't include any missed results over the weekend. Either way, a grim number.
The number of cancelled college football bowl games is now up to six.
