YACHT
Fountain Lawn Stage, Bumbershoot. A lot of fun, a lot of strange but exhilarating fun. Claire Evans is a thoroughly entertaining front-person, and Jona Bechtolt played every instrument on stage at one point or other, and sang. When someone in the audience asked if he could dance onstage, Ms. Evans said "Sure" and next thing, there are about 40 people on stage dancing with the band. They played a cover of the B-52's "Mesopotamia," as well as every song of theirs that I knew. "We're just a mirror," Ms. Evans explained, "reflecting your coolness back on you." They took the high bar Motopony had set earlier, and kicked it into the stratosphere.
