Friday, and the Weekend Begins

So far, Music Fest Northwest has just been warming up, but today the festival gears up for the weekend with the addition of outdoor concerts at Portland's Pioneer Courthouse Square. My schedule for today is subject to last-minute revisions but should be slightly less demanding then yesterday while just as rewarding, starting with some intimate KEXP shows at the Doug Fir Lounge, and Sallie Ford and The Sound Outside, Marketa Irglová (one half of The Swell Season), and Iron and Wine all playing outdoors.  Later tonight, I'm leaning toward returning to the air-conditioned comforts of the Doug Fir to hear some of my new Bumbershoot discoveries, but I'm just as likely to go over to Dante's to watch Dirty Beaches, The Stepkids, and London's The Horrors, or to The Crystal Ballroom to see Blitzen Trapper, as well as Sharon Van Etten again (she played Bumbershoot back on Sunday).

Tomorrow, all my teeth are falling out and there will be explosions in the sky.
