  • I've started sitting mornings (6-7:30) again at the Center. Good practice, but the hours are tough on this habitual night owl!
  • This looks like it's going to be a month of intensive practice - not only am I attending mornings again, but I'm also likely filling in some for the regulars who lead the morning service. I'm also leading another Zen hike this Saturday, opening on the Sunday of the following weekend, and leading a weekend-long sesshin the weekend after July 4. And still opening every Monday night.
  • Meanwhile, back in samsara, the bill to repair the a/c at the UCV was $935, exactly 93.5% of the rent that it took in.
  • This climbing season on Everest, in addition to being the second deadliest, also saw a new speed ascent record, and separately, the first climb by a man with prosthetic legs. The speed ascent was accomplished solo, and without supplemental oxygen. How much time do you think he took out of his quest for a new record to assist the dying as he passed?
