You may be aware that there have been several explosions in central London. We are currently confirming everyone’s whereabouts and this process is almost complete. Currently we are not aware of any staff who are unaccounted. Phone lines to London and cell phones are disrupted.

You may be aware that there have been several explosions in central London. We are receiving many emails from you all, so here is a brief summary. We appreciate your thoughts, and would be grateful if you could avoid telephoning the London office or cell phones as telephone lines are disrupted or are overloaded.

We have accounted for all London staff, and one other UK member of staff who was known to be in London. To our knowledge no staff have been directly affected.

Below is the latest information and advice (that we are following) that has been issued by the head of the London Metropolitan Police and broadcast by the BBC. This information and advice is being continually updated over the television and radio and we are communicating the latest information and advice regularly to staff in the London office.

Ø there have been seven explosions;
Ø London has an emergency plan which is currently in operation and is being implemented by the police;
Ø anyone in London should stay exactly where they are and not travel at all as there is very limited means to travel;
Ø no one should travel to London if not already there;
Ø there are no underground, train or bus services in London;
Ø do not call the emergency services unless it is a life threatening situation;
Ø some people in London have been injured and the most severely injured are being treated in hospital. A casualty telephone number will be broadcast shortly. It is thought that approximately 150 people have been seriously injured. There have been fatalities but no numbers have been stated.

Sarah

Thanks to all of you from around the world who have sent messages of support to the London office. Everyone is fine and resolute. At times like this we all feel proud to belong to a real "people's" consultancy where concern over the well being of our colleagues wherever they might be and from whatever culture they are from really shows through. We'll get over this as soon as possible, and I'm sure it will be business as usual in a couple of days.
Thanks and regards,
Ian
